People always get married. Dont let the economy stop you if you have a will theres a way. GEICO or AIG ( cant remember) was started in 1931 in the Great Depression and there still around today

People are certainly cutting back their spending, but don’t let that deter you. Folks will always need help planning their wedding no matter how bad the economy is. However, be realistic about the fact that your pricing and revenue will be affected.

The important thing is that you differentiate yourself in a crowded market. In fact, you may be able to use the economy to your advantage. You could market yourself as a wedding planner that will save couples’ money on their wedding, It’s the spend a little to save even more principle. If you could demonstrate the average savings by hiring you, I’d expect you’d get a lot of business.

If you need any assistance in starting your business (business plan, marketing, etc), please contact me and I’d be happy to assist you.

Starting a business is always a better idea than putting your life in the hands of someone elses business ( ie: being an employee)….

Making and Keeping customers is what any business is really about…so learn the skills that make you better at doing that, and it won’t matter what state the economy is in.

It’s not that it’s a bad idea to start a wedding planning business in a bad economy, the problem is whether you are doing it because you need money right away. It takes time and referrals by word of mouth, and that’s not something you can cash in on the first year or so. Print up about 1,000 business cards and start handing them out to friends, co-workers, at church and at professional meetings. When you get your first job, ask the bride if any of her friends are planning a wedding. If you can’t afford a booth at a bridal show, for a fee they will insert your business card into every package they give to brides.
