I’m soon to be doing wedding photography as a business, and I was wondering what aspects of your wedding photographer that you liked/disliked. Any other comments & suggestions would be appreciated too.

I’m not married yet, but I’ve got a prospect for a photographer and what I like most about them is that they are going to be with me and my FH (they are a husband and wife team) the whole day, from me waking up basically, taking photos of everything, until the reception is over. I also like their willingness to listen to my ideas.

I work in NYC Wedding photography and I can tell you that you have to pour your heart and soul into the images. Really try to provide a boutique attentive service, help review their schedule for good photography, and get to know them through an engagement session before the weddings. After you have connected to the couple, it makes the pictures much easy to take and you will find yourself being very creative. Also, give them Hi-res files without watermarks. Many couple get annoyed that they pay for photos and then find out they don’t get hi-res disks. Good luck with your new business.
